For 4 days and 3 nights, you will also journey to Solo, visiting the lush tea plantations of Mount Lawu and the serene Cetho Temple, offering both breathtaking scenery and a touch of adrenaline. Notes:
Upon arrival, you will ride to Kotagede, walking and exploring the ancient city of Mataram, and learning how to make traditional silver jewelry. The tour will be continued to the magnificent Prambanan Hindu temple. This temple is believed to have been built by the King of Belitung Mahasambu during the middle of the ninth century. Its parapets are adorned with bas reliefs depicting the famous Ramayana Ballet.
In the morning, you will hike Wukir hill, passing rice fields, bamboo forest and plantations. Experience the traditional house of locals before arriving at the charming Canggal Hindu Temple, drinking a cup of tea and local snack in their Pawon (traditional kitchen). Next is Borobudur temple, one of the world’s great architectural masterpieces filled with history. Continue the tour by riding a horse cart/bicycle through Candirejo village, admiring traditional houses, rice fields, and observing village activities such as making cassava crackers, rengginang sticky rice, and gamelan play. The tour ends by visiting Nglipoh traditional Village to experience traditional pottery art that has existed since the 9th century.
Travel from Yogyakarta to the lush tea plantations of Mount. Lawu and trek through the mountainous village and visit its beautiful temples. Enjoy the scenic mountain roads to reach the isolated 15th century Cetho Temple. Beside its calming and beautiful scenery, a trip to Cetho temple is challenging and arouses adrenaline. Walk through the beautiful tea plantations, soaking in the sights and aromas. Then, take a break by drinking local tea in the middle of the tea plantation. Next is Sukuh temple, a temple decorated with wayang stone carving of Hindu origin. Finish the day by visiting Rumah Atsiri to see the process of creating essential oils with more than 80 plants of essential oil's ingredients you can explore.
Explore the popular Malioboro street and shop at the Beringharjo traditional market for some exotic vegetables and spices as well as the seasonal tropical fruits. Then, walk along an ancient Dutch building before arriving at Kauman, a historical village. The most famous building in the Kauman complex is the Great Mosque, the main mosque founded 16 years after the foundation of Yogyakarta Kingdom. Visit Yogyakarta Sultan Palace, built in grand and elegant Javanese architectural style by Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono I in 1756. You will also stop by Shadow puppet (wayang) workshop to see and learn how to make it traditionally, then visit the adjacent ‘Taman Sari’, water palace and garden built over 200 years ago by the first Sultan with bathing pools for his harem. The tour ends and you will be dropped off at the airport.
